Fractions

Feet, inches, and fraction of an inch are the most used units of measurement used by pipefitters in the United States.  Almost every task will involve  measurements that include a fraction.  From fabricating pipe to finding the right size bolts.

Take the time to learn how to add, subtract, multiply and divide fractions on paper. Learning on paper first will give you a better insight on how fractions work. Calculators that work with fractions are great but there will often be times when one will not be handy. Once you are confident you have mastered fractions than go to the next chapter "DECIMALS".
All fraction have at least two numbers. One over the other.       1  (numerator)
     2  (denominator) or 1/2
